Muscat promises dialogue with NGOs
MLP leadership hopeful Joseph Muscat today had a meeting with representatives of some 40 non-governmental organisations.
His office said they discussed how the NGOs would like to see the MLP in the future.
Dr Muscat said that a Labour Party under his leadership would be an integral part of civil society and would take an effective role in open and constructive discussion with all its components.
He said he was proposing the creation of a Unit for Social Dialogue within the party which would be the channel for ongoing communications between the party and NGOs.
NGOs would also be invited to participate in meetings of an Ideas Forum which would discuss specific themes as the MLP considered its policies.
He also promised that should it be in government, the MLP would give a voice to civil society and decisions would not be imposed but would stem from the NGOs themselves.

My friend do yo know what you are asking for? Can you reach out to the moon? I bet you can, but at the end; there is no hope in hell wou will do.
In short that is what you are asking of the MLP; the impossible.
He also mentioned more of what was done during Dr.Sant's leadership.
As far as I know this proposal was enacted by MLP during the past years and lead to a document called ' Pjan ghall bidu gdid ' which MLP was so rightly proud of because it was made up of policies created after discussions carried out between MLP and all NGOs including the public and gave a very clear view of what the people wanted and that the MLP would use this document as the major tool to win the elections ....seems there was a 'Missing Link' somewhere .
Dr. Joseph Muscat has good modern proposals which will only work provided that all components within the MLP will work in synergy with the aim to reach a common goal.
A missing link would destroy all the work so it is important to remove the missing links BEFORE the road leading to the final goal is begun.
